How to get away with a pitch every day

Ever see that movie Red Sparrow?

Recently, The Aussie Hermit took to The Man Cave to watch it.

And, you know what?

Even though I'm not being a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence (she’s basically the same character in every movie), I quite enjoyed it.

Definitely worth a peek.

However, be warned…

If you’re not inclined to watch torture on screen, there’s a bit of that in this movie.

Horrific.

For example, there’s this one scene where they take a ‘skin grafter’ (that literally peels off skin) and… well…

You get the picture.

Then there’s another scene where they bludgeon Jennifer Lawrence over her arms, legs, jaw, and head with a baton.

They show it all.

Gruesome stuff.

And, as I was watching these scenes in dank, dark halls of The Man Cave, squirming on my throne, it took me back to a time when I was first began as a Coach.

A time where I signed up to all these “guru” email lists - only to be “bludgeoned” over the head like Jennifer Lawrence - with pitch after pitch for their crappy programs.

Does this approach work?

Sure, if you’re getting thousands of email subscribers each day.

If that’s you, you can afford to pitch constantly because there are so many new people coming onto your list that the unsubscribes won’t matter.

You’ll still get buyers.

But if that’s not you?

What if you have a tiny list… or you simply don’t want to bludgeon your list over the head with sleazy pitches every day?

Well, the good news is - you don’t have to.

Take The Aussie Hermit's approach, for example.

I pitch every day, but I don’t do it obnoxiously, forcefully, or violently.

I do it with finesse.

I do it with grace.

And, I do it in a way where my list welcomes it.

Where they enjoy it.

This is the type of pitch you can do every day, without getting tons of unsubscribes, SPAM complaints, or any angry emails (I’ve never had one). But most importantly - it’s the type of pitch you can do each day where you can make lots of sales.

The secret of this pitch is to send emails your prospects actually look forward to reading.

Do that, and you can never pitch too much.

For example - never, not once, have I had a complaint for “too much pitching.” Yet, I pitch every day.

And the truth is - you can, too.

You can pitch every day just like this without being annoying or ‘salesy.’ And let’s be honest - you do have to pitch. It’s a part of being in business. If you’re not pitching you’re doing your prospect a disservice because it means you’re withholding help. The help they so desperately need to lose weight, repair their marriage, save their business etc.

So the question is not - “should I pitch each day?”

But… “How should I pitch each day?”

And so the question then becomes…

Do you want to bludgeon them?

Or do you want to do it in a way where they enjoy it?

If you’ve chosen the former, I can’t help you.

However, if the latter is what you want, then that’s exactly what I show you how to do in The 15 Minute Client daily email program.

For more details on how this system will help you graciously pitch (and attract) high paying clients sending just one, 15-minute email each day, head on over to this link:

The success secret of "low-expectations"

The other day, The Aussie Hermit was speaking to a Coach on the phone about her funnel.

The reason?

She was looking for help on how to make it convert.

So I asked her some questions…

I examined her approach…

And then I laid out a plan for her to launch it so that she could get to her goal of 6 qualified appointments every week.

The result?

We’ll have to wait and see!

But there was one point when I was laying out the plan she said something to yours truly that really struck me.

Something you don’t hear from Coaches…

And something that’s a key component to becoming a super successful Coach and Consultant.

That thing she said?

“I don’t expect this to work first go”

Meaning…

She doesn’t expect her funnel to work (AKA: bring in clients) when she first launches it.

So why is this such a big deal?

Because she has completely low expectations about her results - and that’s the type of mindset you want for success.

Let the ol’ Aussie Hermit explain…

You see, most Coaches and Consultants approach their funnels and marketing campaigns the exact opposite. They expect that it should work the first time they launch it (or close to). After all, they’ve spent so much time choosing their niche…

Crafting their offer…

Creating their lead magnet…

Recording their videos…

Setting up all the tech…

Writing their Facebook ads…

And learning how to launch it all.

That’s a lot of effort, right?

Absolutely.

And because of that, they believe the funnel should work first go.

BIG mistake.

Why?

Because almost always funnels and marketing campaigns don’t work first go!

(Yes. Even for the top marketers on the planet)

They have completely unrealistic exceptions.

So what happens when it inevitably doesn’t work after all these weeks (and sometimes months) of effort?

They’re completely devastated.

And you know what happens next?

Well, often they move onto the next ‘bright shiny marketing object’ the latest “guru” is peddling only to be disappointed (again) when their magic bullet solution doesn’t work first go!

It’s a terrible cycle.

And one I knew well for many years.

The good news is, it can be avoided with the right mindset…

And that mindset is to have completely LOW exceptions.

When you go into a campaign expecting it to do poorly, what do you think your mindset will be like when it inevitably does poorly?

Do you think you’ll be completely devastated?

Or…

Do you think you’ll be pretty indifferent? Neither sad nor happy.

The latter, right?

Because that’s what you expect.

And when you’re the latter, do you think you’ll be more inclined to move forward and continue to take action on your funnel?

Absolutely!

So one of the key secrets to success is low exceptions, not high.

Use this mindset in your next campaign and watch your motivation (and results) transform for the better!

With that being said, lets get down to some business…

Are you looking for more high paying clients?

If so, then maybe it’s time you discovered the same 15 minute per day client-getting strategy the aforementioned Coach and I discussed on the call.

Why “value only” content that doesn’t pitch is stupid

You hear it often.

“Gurus" advocate it.

Coaches perpetuate it.

But, it’s the most stupid approach to marketing out there.

What is it?

Giving valuable content without pitching.

You’ve heard them tell you…

“When they enter your email list, you should give really good content/value for a few days to “warm them up,” and “build the relationship””

Here’s why this is completely, utterly, stupid…

Imagine you’ve got a toothache. Not just any toothache. A real stinker. This thing feels like someone has got a jackhammer to your jaw. Your whole head is in crippling pain. You can hardly concentrate. Barely able to see straight.

You need relief.

So, what do you do?

You head down to the drug store to get that relief.

You walk up to the counter. You ask for the strongest pain killer they’ve got. To which the clerk replies…

“Oh sorry. We’re not selling anything today. What we’re doing instead is educating our customers on the importance of pain relief. We call this our “value only” day.”

What would you?

You’d promptly leave and go to a drug store that would sell you the drugs you’re after!

And this is why giving value only, without selling your product/program is so frikken stoopid.

You’ve got a solution to relieve your prospects of pain in their marriage, business, career, health etc.

And so by not offering that solution every time you’re delivering content - you’re doing them a disservice.

You’re doing them harm.

Just like the drug store clerk and his “value only” days.

Why would you hold back a solution you know can help your prospects?

To me, that just doesn’t make any sense.

To me, that just sends your prospects to the competition (that usually have WORSE products) who are willing to sell - who are willing to provide a solution.

So the question is:

If they’re going to buy anyway - who do you want them to buy from? You? Or them?

More:

Now, am I advocating you constantly pitch without giving value? Of course not. There are ways to pitch your program/product every day - to give them an opportunity to get that relief every day - without being obnoxious, douchey, or ‘salesy.’

Take, for example, my daily emails.

In every single email I have a call to action link to my 15 Minute Client program.

I sell in every email without guilt or hesitation because I know my solution can help your business grow - drastically. And so I want to make sure you have access to that solution, when you need it.

But along with that call to action, I also deliver value. Just like this email. I deliver value first, then I have a call to action to The 15 Minute Client program.

So the message is:

Just because you make a point of selling in everything you do, doesn’t mean you can’t provide value.

Forget about all that B.S. that you have to “warm up” prospects before you let them know about your solution. Because as Jay Abraham says - “If you truly believe that what you have is useful and valuable to your clients, then you have a moral obligation to try to serve them in every way possible.” And that includes telling them about your service - your solution - every damn day from the moment they get on your list.

With that being said, now it’s my turn to deliver on my moral and ethical duty for today:

If you want a program that shows you how to attract clients every week who are ready to sign up to your programs before you every speak to them (how to do that sending just one, 15 minute email per day) then it’s time you checked out The 15 Minute Client program.

The perfect day?

In so many self-help books they say to visualise what your “perfect day” would look like.

The idea being, the clearer you are about it, the more chance you have of attaining it.

Makes sense (I think).

Well, after years of working at it, I believe I’ve figured it out!

I’ve finally discovered The Perfect Day!

And so without further ado, here’s The Aussie Hermit’s Perfect Day in all it’s solitudinous glory:

First, I wake up and go to the gym in my garage… alone.

Then, I take a long drive in my car… alone.

Then, I go read a book at my favourite cafe… alone.

Then, I drive down to the city to get a massage… alone.

Then, I walk on over to my favourite steakhouse and eat lunch… alone.

From there, I stroll over to the local cinema and watch a movie… alone.

And after that?

Well, it’s time to retire into dank, dark recesses of The Man-Cave to do what The Aussie Hermit does best…

Smoke a cigar, sip whisky, and stroke my thick, bushy, black beard while watching conspiracy theory videos on YouTube… ALONE!

Is that not the most beautiful day you’ve ever seen!?

I’m getting goose pimples just thinking about it.

Feel free to steal this, by the way.

I won’t even charge you for it.

I simply had to share it with my young Hermites because it’s just too good to keep to myself.

With that being said, the next question then becomes…

How do you actually implement it?

Is this perfect day even possible?

Well, the good news is - for The Aussie Hermit, it is!

You see, I’ve built my business in a way where I can get all my marketing done in just 15 minutes per day. And because of that, I have a lot of time to spend my days exactly as described above. Now, you may not want to spend your day in such extreme solitude as The Aussie Hermit (don’t know why), BUT, you may like to spend your days with complete freedom to do what you want, the way you want.

If that’s the case, it’s probably time you check out my daily email system.

It will help you get a consistent flow of clients who are ready to buy before you ever speak to them in just a few minutes per day.

Think & Grow Rich for Coaches

Behold, one of the most profitable lessons from the book, Think & Grow Rich…

(And one of The Aussie Hermit's fav. stories that show the way for getting lots of clients!)

Here it is:

=====

Shortly after Mr. Darby received his degree from the "University of Hard Knocks," and had decided to profit by his experience in the gold mining business, he had the good fortune to be present on an occasion that proved to him that "No" does not necessarily mean no.

One afternoon he was helping his uncle grind wheat in an old fashioned mill. The uncle operated a large farm on which a number of colored sharecrop farmers lived. Quietly, the door was opened, and a small colored child, the daughter of a tenant, walked in and took her place near the door.

The uncle looked up, saw the child, and barked at her roughly, "what do you want?"

Meekly, the child replied, "My mammy say send her fifty cents." "I'll not do it," the uncle retorted, "Now you run on home." "Yas sah," the child replied.

But she did not move.

The uncle went ahead with his work, so busily engaged that he did not pay enough attention to the child to observe that she did not leave. When he looked up and saw her still standing there, he yelled at her, "I told you to go on home! Now go, or I'll take a switch to you." The little girl said "yas sah," but she did not budge an inch.

The uncle dropped a sack of grain he was about to pour into the mill hopper, picked up a barrel stave, and started toward the child with an expression on his face that indicated trouble.

Darby held his breath.

He was certain he was about to witness a murder. He knew his uncle had a fierce temper. He knew that colored children were not supposed to defy white people in that part of the country.

When the uncle reached the spot where the child was standing, she quickly stepped forward one step, looked up into his eyes, and screamed at the top of her shrill voice, "MY MAMMY'S GOTTA HAVE THAT FIFTY CENTS!"

The uncle stopped, looked at her for a minute, then slowly laid the barrel stave on the floor, put his hand in his pocket, took out half a dollar, and gave it to her.

The child took the money and slowly backed toward the door, never taking her eyes off the man whom she had just conquered.

======

Powerful, right?

But most importantly…

It gifts you a huge key in the formula to “coaching success”…

Many Coaches believe (because “gurus" have told them), that being successful is as simple as buying their latest ‘overnight success system.’ When the truth is, a big “secret” to success in this game that no one wants to hear about, is simply having a little (gasp!) perseverance.

Yup, perseverance.

Boring, right?

Def not sexy.

Won’t sell to those Coaches looking for the last “bot hack” or “funnel trick.”

I’m probably shooting my sales in the foot even talking about it!

But the truth is, if you persevere, if you refrain from giving up, you cannot not succeed.

Take our client, Karen Kalis, for example.

She’s a customer of my 15 Minute Client program.

And for the first 3 months upon entering the program she’s tested, tweaked, refined, tested again - never giving up. Always moving forward. Always persevering because she knew one day things were going to come together.

And come together they did.

Here’s what she recently wrote in my 15 Minute Client VIP coaching group:

====

I had something happen today…

I got two new clients in one day.

How did this happen? I worked hard, but mostly I did what Luke told me to do.

I did the homework, posted my results and did what they asked.

The result is that I have a growing biz — a real one.

So… If you don’t think you can have the biz you want, you can, but you have to take action.

If you haven’t posted here in a while, haven’t finished what you started and aren’t sure you can, I’m going to issue you a challenge.

Get back to work.
Post your questions.
Finish what you started.

Luke (and me, too!) will help.

Go on… you can do it!

====

Once again, business is not complex.

It’s about doing the things you know you should be doing, but aren’t.

One of them is to persevere even when you’re frustrated as heck.

And the other is to send one email, to your list, every day, and let the power of follow up fill your practice with client after client after client for as long as you want.

For more details on how you can use this one type of email we taught Karen to fill her business, head on over to this link:

This is better than free m0ney

Let me be honest…

The Aussie Hermit loves m0ney!

I love spending it…

I love investing it…

I love seeing it flow into my bank account…

I love the feeling of security it brings…

I love that it gives me the freedom to do what I want, when I want…

And… I even love picturing myself diving into a huge swimming pool of it a la Scrooge McDuck.

Ahh yes… I do love me some m0ney.

But there’s one thing I love more than m0ney…

In fact, I’d go so far as to say this one thing is better than FREE m0ney…

That one thing?

My ability to produce m0ney.

You see, anyone can come along and give you a bunch of free m0ney, but that’s only going to last so long.

Just look at your local homeless people…

They get free m0ney all the time! Yet, how wealthy are they?

Exactly.

So I would much rather have the ability to produce m0ney than have free m0ney given to me.

And this is why I spend every day improving on my ability to produce emails that makes lots of, you guessed it… m0ney!

The equation is very simple…

The better I get at sending emails, the more m0ney flows my way.

If you want in on that, I have a system that shows you how to get extremely good at sending emails that attract attract all the clients you could ever want (and therefore - attract all the m0ney you could ever need).

Even better, it’s a system you can start getting results from right away (even if you’re not a writer or have a tiny list).

Why you should ditch most of your friends

You'd probably never guess it but, The Aussie Hermit likes to be alone.

I know, I know - hard to believe.

A guy that spends 95% of his time in a Man Cave, is called “The Aussie Hermit,” and that does virtually all his marketing via email likes to be alone.

But alas, it’s true.

And what’s also true is that it wasn’t always like this.

You see, I had friends.

Lots of friends.

But then I started to take a different tack to most in life…

I quit my safe, corporate career.

I built a business.

And I live a life 99.9% will never attain (not because they can’t, but because they believe they can’t).

And when that happened I realised I had less and less in common with those around me. Even long time friends. Where they were gossiping about what’s happening in other people’s lives, I was more interested in transformation people’s lives.

And maybe you're the same?

Maybe, when you started on this entrepreneurial journey you found out that most of the friends you thought were friends, no longer "got" you.

They didn't understand your passion, or your mission, or why you wanted to build a business that actually impacts lives.

But also…

Maybe you didn't understand why they were happy staying the same?

You didn’t get them.

I’m not sure where I’m going with this, only to say…

That's just the way life is.

You have to accept it as a business owner and as someone who's chasing their dream.

You also have to accept that these people, even if they're long time friends, may not be the best people to hang out with anymore. Otherwise, they can bring you down.

It's very true that saying…

“You're the average of the 5 people you hang around most.”

And so, you've got to be careful with who you're giving your time to. If you want to be successful, you’d be wise to spend your time with “A-Players” who’ve built the type of business you want to build. That’s who The Aussie Hermit hangs out with now (when, on occasion, I crawl out of The Man Cave).

And it’s what has enabled me to quadruple my income in the last 12 months alone.

Bottom line:

Ditch the friends that bring you down.

Find A-Players who will lift you up.

Do that, and you’ll have given yourself a huge advantage in building the business you want.

-Luke Charlton
Location: The Man Cave

P.S. Other than finding A-Players to hang out with, another sound “success principle” is having a proven system to deliver you clients when you want them.

Enter my 15 Minute Client system.

Through one, 15 minute daily email I show you how to get “ready to buy” prospects beating down your door every week (even if you have a tiny list or can’t write yourself out of a paper bag).

The secret to making a woman org@zm?

The Aussie Hermit once heard on a podcast the "secret" to making a woman org@zm…

And, when I heard it I thought…

“That’s exactly the same secret I used to make a lot of sales with my emails!”

The secret?

Let me reveal it to you right now…

Not long ago, I did a launch for a new program.

There were no launch videos…

No complex funnels…

No tripwires…

Just plain old email.

Even better, the launch exceeded expectations and made The Aussie Hermit a whole lot of loot.

But the reason why I made all these sales is because I was able to 'tap into' the little known psychological trigger that whips prospects into a buying frenzy - the same psychological trigger that enables a woman to reach org@zm a lot easier.

Would you like me to reveal it to you?

I’ll let you try and guess it first…

How’d you go?

Still nothin'?

OK, here’s a hint…

I’m using it on you right now!

Got it, yet?

All right, all right…

If you must know, the psychological trigger is…

….

….

Anticipation!

That's right my young Hermite. By using simple daily emails before I hit the “go live” button on this new program, I was able to build the necessary anticipation needed for the program to have a big launch.

Meaning:

I was able to teeeease my list about the ALL the benefits of the program before it launched…

I was able to teeease them about all the pains and frustrations it was going to solve before it launched…

And, I was able to teeeease them about the HUGE discount they were going to get… all before it launched!

And by doing that, I was able to get a whole lot more people interested before the launch, and therefore a whole lot more sales when I actually launched.

So, whenever you launch your program (or get in bed with a woman), you want to first tease, tease, tease them until they can't handle it no more. And it's at that point they can't handle it no more that you finally give her err… them what you've promised this whole time…

Your program!

It couldn't be simpler - just like making a woman org@zm (heh).

Now go ye forth and use The Aussie Hermit's words of wisdom to make your next launch profitable, and your next night with your spouse more memorable.

And when she asks, "how did you do that?" just whisper “The Aussie Hermit" in her ear. And for you ladies, the anticipation works on your man, too (maybe just leave out the whispering part).

LEGAL DISCLAIMER FROM THE AUSSIE HERMIT’S LAWYER: The Aussie Hermit, AKA: Luke Charlton, takes absolutely NO responsibility for ANY and ALL claims relating to the process of making a woman org@zm. Nor will he held liable for the damage such advice has on a marriage or relationship. Any such claims and advice should be completely ignored and disregarded.

Further, Luke Charlton realises no man would be crazy enough to try and simplify the female org@zm and psyche down to one simple principle. And so, any emails you might send that sound something like…

"Oh Luke, you've got a lot to learn about women," or…

"Oh Luke, that's not the secret to making woman orgazm," etc.

Should be immediately deleted.

Following that, you should go forth and buy Luke’s program…

The 15 Minute Client.

It may not help you (or your wife) org@zm, but it’ll help you attract high-paying clients in droves.

And isn’t that what your spouse really wants from you anyway?

Exactly.

The worst client-getting advice?

True story:

5 years ago when The Aussie Hermit moved to London to grow my coaching business (back in Australia now), I was given a lot of bad advice on how to get clients by my then mentor. And, one of the worst pieces of advice he gave me was to “do a press release.”

He said if you do a press release you’ll get picked up by the major media companies, you’ll get a ton of free traffic sent to your website, and your phone will be “ringing off the hook” from people wanting to work with you.

And I believed him!

So the moment I got to London I do what he says…

I write a press release believing it was my “magic bullet” to bring in a rush of clients (and much needed income).

So I write up the release…

I choose the most expensive, $500 option because I wanted to make sure it went to ALL the major media outlets…

I hit “buy now” and I waited for the phone to start ringing!

And did it?

Good god no!

My release didn’t even get me so much as ONE new visitor.

What a waste of money.

But the scariest thing for me is that I really did think this approach was my “golden ticket.” And so when it didn’t work, I had a massive realisation…

Getting clients wasn’t going to be as easy as I thought!

A scary proposition when you’ve just moved to London and you don’t know anyone!

(I wish I had this realisation BEFORE quit my 6 figure/yr job)…

Anyway…

So what’s the lesson?

No it’s not that press releases are a dumb way to go about getting clients. They can work IF you have the right things in place, and if you have your strategy down. But they’re usually a slow burn.

The real moral I want to share is that I know how scary it can be to put all your hope into an approach and it not pay off, then have no idea what to do next to bring in an income.

To get clients, it’s not some quick tactic that’s going to work for you (note: a tactic can work, but it won’t be repeatable). So what you want to focus on is a strategy you can use over and over again to get clients.

Now, there are many strategies to get clients…

You can build convoluted funnels…

You can put together 100+ week automatons sequences…

You can spend hours trawling through social groups trying to find that one “needle in a hay stack” client (while fending off 10 other Coaches doing the same thing)…

You can spend days figuring out “bots” and messenger marketing…

Or…

You can focus on the simple, proven, straightforward strategies that have worked since the beginning of the internet.

The best one going?…

1) Build a list.

2) Email that list, each day, with an offer they want.

You can’t get a much more simple strategy than that!

And the best news is - it works for ALL types of Coaches, Consultants and Service Professionals.

Of course, you can choose the bright shiny marketing objects the latest “guru” is peddling.

Whatever floats your boat (or sinks it)!

I’ll still be here, building my list, and taking 15 minutes to email that list each day with an offer they want, and I’ll continue to rake in the big ones!

If that sounds like something you want, then stroll on over to this link now:

Will you marry me?

A bizarre question to ask when we don’t really know each other.

And a question that makes you want to turn and run the other way.

Yet, this is exactly what The Aussie Hermit used to do to his prospects every single day.

I’d ask to “marry them” (AKA: sign up to my program) before I knew them - or they knew me and my value as an expert.

For example…

I’d meet a prospect in a Facebook group… and I’d immediately start telling them about how my program would help them.

Or I’d meet a prospect at a networking event… and I’d immediately start telling them about how my program would help them.

Or I’d run Facebook ads to build my list… and I’d immediately start telling them about how my program would help them on the thank you page.

I call it the “marry me” approach.

And, it’s this approach that had me struggling for years, doing sales call after sales call that didn’t end in a sale.

Just a lot of “I’ll think about it” and “I don’t have the money right now” excuses.

Frustrating, right?

So why the heck did I continue to do this even though it would rarely end in a sale?

Simple…

I was needy.

And that caused me to act in needy ways - like asking a client to marry me on our first date.

So if you’re the same…

If you’re in a place of need…

And if you have a lot of sales calls that don’t eventuate into a sale - then let me ask…

Are you also taking the “marry me” approach?

Are you trying to get prospects on the phone or into a sales conversation before they’re ready to buy from you?

If so, then let me show you what to do instead so you can attract a consistent flow of clients who are waiting at the front of the isle, ready to be wed to you (AKA: ready to sign up to your programs).

Here’s how it works:

Just like with your spouse or past relationships, you want to build a relationship with your prospect before you pop the question (AKA: before you invite them to a sales call).

Why?

Because when it comes to coaching, consulting or a service (as opposed to a physical product), you’re selling the knowledge inside your brain. Knowledge they can’t see or touch. Therefore, if you enter the sales conversation and they don’t know you that well, or have never experienced the invisible knowledge inside your brain (through your content), you’ll have a hard time closing them. Hence, why this approach leads to a lot of dud sales calls.

This is why I love email.

Through simple, plain, I’ve-heard-it-before “email follow up," I’m able to build the relationship day by day, then when they’re ready, get prospects on the phone through a call to action in the email. But get this… Because they’ve been reading my emails every day, when I speak to them they already who know me, trust me, know that I can help them, and want to work with me - and I’ve never actually spoken to them.

Imagine that…

Through the power of boring, unsexy, I’ve-heard-it-before email follow up, I have prospects waiting at the end of the isle ready to marry me (AKA: work with me).

From there, and it’s just a matter of me deciding whether I want to marry (work with) them.

And that’s how most of my sales conversations now go.

I don’t have to sell - they’re already sold.

There are many other approaches out there that get prospects on the phone for you - but there’s really only one that gets them on the phone, with this level of trust, with this level of knowledge about your true value, and with this level of enthusiasm to work with you.

If that sounds like the type of sales conversations you want, then maybe my 15 Minute Client system is for you.
