How to target high-paying clients with Facebook ads
One of the questions The Aussie Hermit often gets asked when it comes to running successful ad campaigns is…
"How Do I Create Ads that Attract Prospects with Money?"
And, many Coaches believe the way to do that is with the "targeting" settings within Facebook (or any other ad platform).
The truth is, I used to believe this as well.
I used to think there was some "perfect" targeting setting within Facebook that would get me the wealthy clients I was looking for.
For example, I used to think the reason I kept attracting broke people was because I hadn’t found the perfect "interest" audience, or that I wasn’t using the right "lookalike" audience.
But then I learned none of that mattered.
So much so, I use super broad audiences and pretty much all the default targeting settings in my campaigns now.

As you’ll see, there’s no magic to it.

Are you solving a $5,000 problem?
Most of us Coaches want to sell a high-ticket offering.
Unfortunately, most of us are not solving a high-ticket problem.
Instead, we're solving problems most prospects are used to spending $30-$200 on.
And so when we get on the phone and present them the price point, they get huge "sticker shock." From there they put up a brick wall with objection after objection.

Facebook group scaling strategies
Next week, The Aussie Hermit is going to (re-launch) The Hermit Hole.
This is a private community to help Coaches thrive through these turbulent economic times.
And, I say "re-launch" because the private social platform I hosted The Hermit Hole on before wasn't that great.

It was a completely different social app. And because of that, it didn't get much engagement. People just weren't used to using it.

My favourite unsolicited SPAM email of all time
Big news!
The Aussie Hermit just received an unsolicited (AKA: SPAM) email from the folks over at PodcastStatus(dot)com.
Now, I don’t usually like unsolicited SPAM emails.
I’m sure you don’t either.
Usually, they just contain pitches with no value. But in this case, The Aussie Hermit will make an exception.
The reason?
Well, apparently their job over at Podcast Status is to track all the metrics for every podcast online today.
And so they reached out to let me know that my brand new "15 Minute Client" podcast has hit the Top 100 in the US for marketing (ranking 62), and in the Top 50 in Australia for marketing (ranking 37).
Pretty cool, ey?
Of course, they wanted me to sign up for their service to get more detailed metrics.
But to be honest, I don’t really care about those at this stage. It’s enough to know that I have a Top 100 Marketing Podcast.
And on that note…
I’d first off like to thank everyone here on my list who subscribed (and listened) for making that result happen.
To say The Aussie Hermit is grateful would be an understatement.
As mentioned last week when I launched, this podcast has been something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. So it’s good to know people are getting value from it.
And second off, it reinforces something else I mentioned last week…
One of the benefits of building/emailing your list *before* you launch a podcast, is that you’ll have an audience ready to listen the moment you do launch.
Many Coaches launch a podcast with no list and no audience.
And while you can build an audience over time by being consistent (and sticking it out for a couple of years), most don’t have the patience for that. Anywho…

Free marketing insights you can quickly apply to your campaigns
If you haven’t heard, yesterday The Aussie Hermit launched The 15 Minute Client podcast. A show that helps Coaches earning under 6-figures get high-paying online clients without complex funnels. Moreover, I knew that if I wanted to get listeners it needed to be different. (A good marketing lesson for *any* the content you put out there, as an FYI) There are so many podcasts today that if I delivered the same as everyone else, there’d be no reason for you to tune in. So before launching I sat down and thought about what would make this podcast different. Here’s what I came up with: First, as mentioned, it’s for Coaches earning under 6-figures per year. Yes, this advice will help mid-6 and 7-figure+ Coaches. But every piece of content within the podcast is tailored within the context of a Coach earning between $0 to $100k per year. This is important because there are so many podcasts out there that are taught by 7-figure+ gurus, but their advice is a bit out of touch for Coaches under 6-figures. (A reason why so many Coaches struggle to make funnels work, as I mentioned in my last email) So you can expect this to be very helpful if you’re in the $0 to $100k/yr bracket. The second reason this podcast is different is because the episodes are short. Yes, the first 10 episodes are longer. That’s by design. I wanted to teach my complete “15 Minute Client” system in depth in the first few episodes to kick the podcast off with a bang. Plus - deliver you a ton of client-getting value. However, the episodes thereafter are going to be pretty short in general. 5-10 minutes. And again - that’s by design. You see, I’m going to be recording these episodes pretty much daily. And within each, I’ll be sharing a quick “marketing insight” you can implement in your own campaigns right away. So many podcasts out there go for far too long. Their episodes are 30-60 minutes and often become quite bloated simply because the podcast host has decided every episode needs to hit 30 or 60 minutes exactly. And when they’re 10-15 minutes short they have to fill the episode. The Aussie Hermit thinks that’s silly. An episode should only be as long as is needed to deliver the piece of advice you’re talking about in that particular episode. Whether that be 18 minutes. 10 minutes. 3 minutes. Whatever. The point is - you deliver the piece of advice and then get out. This makes for a far more pithy and useful podcast. And that’s exactly how The 15 Minute Client podcast is. You’ll listen to each episode and get a very valuable marketing insight you can start using in your campaigns right away - without any fluff. Finally, but not exhaustively… The third reason this podcast is different is because, well… it contains me - The Aussie Hermit 😀 After all, there’s only 1 Aussie Hermit. Plus, there’s only 1 Aussie Hermit who’s spent over 16 million scaling ad campaigns over the last 6 years, helped thousands of Coaches grow their business, plus been hired to write copy for some very high-level Coaches (including Bob Proctor, Neil Patel, Grace Lever, and more). It’s true. And what that means is you get marketing insights that are unique. Moreover, you get insights that are easy to understand. One of the things Coaches tell me all the time - and had someone tell me again today - is that they love gin my advice is simple and straightforward. Client-getting advice for Coaches earning under 6-figures
Yesterday, The Aussie Hermit was trawling through Facebook and came across a post by a 7-figure industry guru.
Now, I don’t really have anything against this person. He’s a good dude with generally solid advice.
In fact, they were a client of mine at one stage where I helped them with their daily emails.
However, what I did have a problem with was the advice he was giving in this particular post.
I won’t go into the technicals because it would get in the way of the point.
But basically, he was giving advice on how to scale your advertising campaigns.
And while the advice was technically correct, it was totally incorrect for Coaches earning under 6-figures.
Meaning, it was incorrect because if the Coaches he was speaking to (most earning under 6-figures) followed his advice they’d put their business into thousands of dollars of debt.
And this is what I see from successful gurus all the time.
They give advice from their “7-figure perspective” and often that advice sends Coaches under 6-figure down the wrong path.
A great example of this is “funnels.”
Don’t get me wrong - funnels are great when they’re converting.
But in order to get a webinar funnel or a 5-day challenge funnel or a bot funnel or a tripwire funnel or any “flavour of the month” funnel converting is no easy task.
Even after $16M+ in ad spend it takes The Aussie Hermit a lot of my skill and weeks of testing to make them work.
But what about for the regular Coach?
It often takes them 6-figure months to get one set up - and that’s not even testing traffic to see if it converts. I’m just talking about getting the content, products and tech together.
Then, after all that effort, they spend a bunch of money on ads and it doesn’t convert and they have to re-do everything.
(Most don’t re-do it though. They just move on to the next bright shiny funnel)
And why does that happen?
*Because most Coaches aren’t marketing professionals.*
Yet, these funnels require marketing professionals to make them convert.
This, again, is an example of 7-figure guru advice not being tailored to Coaches under 6-figures.
