 Why employee attraction is client attraction

 For the last few weeks The Aussie Hermit has been deep in recruitment for the coaching company I’ve partnered with.

And here’s what I’ve realized about getting clients and employee recruitment:

The two are eerily similar.

In other words…

The copywriting and persuasion principles that attract employees are nearly the same as those that attract coaching clients.

Case in point:

We recently sent out a recruitment email to my business partner’s list. And 76 women applied for the role…

… which is way more than we could ever interview.

That’s a great problem to have, much like getting too many booked appointments in your calendar.

How to get success without skills

Last month The Aussie Hermit recruited brand new salespeople for the coaching business I’m running with my business partner.

Now, here’s how we ran this campaign:

First, we advertised the role. And we brought the top six candidates into a sales boot camp.

During this boot camp, our candidates had one simple task:

To sell as many copies of a $97 product as possible.

Only the top 2-3 candidates would move forward in the recruitment process.

And you know what?

Right from the very first day…

I could tell who would win.

How?

There were two people who brought a specific quality with them. And this is the same quality that can help you achieve success, regardless of your natural skills (or lack thereof).

Anyone can embody this quality. You don’t have to be “born” with it or have a natural “knack” for it.

How to qualify your leads & have better calls

Recently a client asked The Aussie Hermit:

“Luke, I want better quality leads. Can’t we change our targeting towards who make more money, like entrepreneurs?”

Now, I know this client’s numbers. After all, I run her ads.

And this is what I said to her:

“We don’t want to change your messaging because it’s working.”

Case in point:

The day before, 16 people applied for her program for $2.74 per application.

Out of those applications, 6 people went through and booked a call on her calendar.

Those 6 ended up costing $7.31 per appointment.

Now, let me ask you:

Would you like appointments booked straight into your calendar for the measly cost of $7.31?

I’m guessing the answer is “absolutely.”

Who wouldn’t?

So, no - the problem is not the messaging or the targeting.

How to warm up your prospects without content

Last week The Aussie Hermit revealed why content is useless for closing high-paying coaching clients.

And how skipping ‘teaching’ content helped my business partner and I get a 31x ROAS.

Despite not using ‘content’ to attract and convert these prospects…

We still warm up every prospect that books a call.

Why content is useless for closing

The other day The Aussie Hermit was helping a client with a VSL that wasn’t converting yet.

And the first thing she suggested was to teach an additional mindset hack within that VSL.

So she asked me if I thought this would increase conversions.

My response?

A hard no.

And here’s why:

If you’re struggling to convert prospects into clients - whether it’s on the phone, a webinar, or a VSL…

It isn’t because you forgot to teach them something with your content.

In contrast:

My business partner and I spent $2,000 in ads over the last 6 weeks.

This campaign doesn’t teach.

And we don’t teach on the sales calls, either.

The result?

$62,000 in revenue.

That’s a 31x return on ad spend.

The leverage points to fast track to $100k/mo

One of the most important concepts to wrap your head around when growing your business is something The Aussie Hermit has been thinking a ton about over the last 12 months.

How I’d use AI to get coaching clients

Recently The Aussie Hermit has noticed an onslaught of gurus selling courses on how to use AI for your copy.

My two cents?

AI won’t replace copywriters anytime soon.

Why not?

It’s pretty simple…

To make your advertising campaigns successful, you need to figure out how your coaching program differs from competitors.

It’s what I always refer to as a unique mechanism.

Moreover…

You can’t write great copy without figuring that out first.

And neither can AI.

Does that mean I believe AI is useless for advertising campaigns?
