Yesterday, The Aussie Hermit was trawling through Facebook and came across a post by a 7-figure industry guru.

Now, I don’t really have anything against this person. He’s a good dude with generally solid advice. 

In fact, they were a client of mine at one stage where I helped them with their daily emails.

However, what I did have a problem with was the advice he was giving in this particular post.

I won’t go into the technicals because it would get in the way of the point.

But basically, he was giving advice on how to scale your advertising campaigns.

And while the advice was technically correct, it was totally incorrect for Coaches earning under 6-figures.

Meaning, it was incorrect because if the Coaches he was speaking to (most earning under 6-figures) followed his advice they’d put their business into thousands of dollars of debt.

And this is what I see from successful gurus all the time.

They give advice from their “7-figure perspective” and often that advice sends Coaches under 6-figure down the wrong path.

A great example of this is “funnels.”

Don’t get me wrong – funnels are great when they’re converting.

But in order to get a webinar funnel or a 5-day challenge funnel or a bot funnel or a tripwire funnel or any “flavour of the month” funnel converting is no easy task.

Even after $16M+ in ad spend it takes The Aussie Hermit a lot of my skill and weeks of testing to make them work.

But what about for the regular Coach?

It often takes them 6-figure months to get one set up – and that’s not even testing traffic to see if it converts. I’m just talking about getting the content, products and tech together.

Then, after all that effort, they spend a bunch of money on ads and it doesn’t convert and they have to re-do everything.

(Most don’t re-do it though. They just move on to the next bright shiny funnel)

And why does that happen?

*Because most Coaches aren’t marketing professionals.*

Yet, these funnels require marketing professionals to make them convert.

This, again, is an example of 7-figure guru advice not being tailored to Coaches under 6-figures.

The Hermit Hole, Somewhere Near Byron Bay

Hey hey! The Aussie Hermit here. And, today I come to you with a bit of an exciting announcement… You see, for many years now I’ve wanted to launch my very own podcast. I’ve always loved the medium of sound/audio because of how easy it is to produce content. After all, unlike video you can record in your underwear or completely naked if you want. Also, with a smartphone, you have the ability to record an episode at any time or place. Instantly. No other tech needed. You just pull out your phone, hit “record” and you’re producing. But probably what appeals to me the most about running an audio podcast is that the listener can consume your content a lot easier than other mediums. For example, to read a blog, you need to be on your phone/computer. To watch a video, you need to be on your phone/computer. To consume a social post, you need to be on your phone/computer etc. To go through a book, you need to be on your phone/kindle/holding the physical book etc. Even to read an email you need to be on your phone or computer. Not so with audio. You see, with audio you can consume content without needing your hands or interacting with any piece of tech (save hitting “play”). And that means you can consume content while… Running. Working out. Driving. Doing house chores. Beating your kids etc. In other words – audio makes it far easier for your prospects to consume your content vs other mediums. This is a big advantage for us Coaches because it’s through our content where we demonstrate our expertise and build that all important “Know/Like/Trust” factor needed for a high-ticket sale. The problem with podcasts, however, is that it’s hard to get subscribers organically because there are so many out there now. And this is yet (another) reason why I tell Coaches to build their email list first before launching a podcast. That way, when you’re ready to start your own show, you simply email your list about it and voilà – you have an audience instantly.
