The illusion of client security

Recently, The Aussie Hermit came across this gem of a story online:

"Today, while on vacation, I got fired for not working a shift I wasn't scheduled for.

Even after texting my boss a copy of my vacation approval letter, she still fired me. FML."

Funny.

And quite sad.

And this is exactly why I left the corporate world...

Job security is an illusion.

You are always at the mercy of someone else's decisions.

You want a raise? Too bad - their decision.

You want to move departments? Too bad - their decision.

You want to go on vacation? Too bad - their decision.

You want to keep your job? Too bad - their decision.

And so on.

Now, before you lean back in your chair, puffing that corn cob pipe thinking to yourself how great a decision it was to choose the path of a business owner, you've got to know...

Client security, like job security, is also an illusion.

It’s true.

Just like your boss can fire you, your clients can fire you at a moments notice, too.

They can cancel their coaching.

They can request a refund.

And if you refuse?

Well, they can go right over your head to the credit card company and do a chargeback.

Your power in that situation?

Virtually nil.

Sometimes you might get your money back - after a few months of back and forth. Sending documents. Arguing for hours over the phone etc.

But what happens in the meantime?

What happens if you needed that money (which I know most Coaches almost always do because of their low client load), well...

You've just put yourself and your family under a whole lot of financial stress.

So the message here is this:

Don't think that because you’ve signed a client, that that money is yours.

They can come back at a moments notice and get it back from you.

In other words…

They have the power, you don’t.

So what's the remedy?

Simple…

Create a safety net.

Make it so that if a client leaves, or if they request a refund, or if they do a chargeback - you’re totally fine.

The way The Aussie Hermit does this is by creating a "waitlist" of clients.

What you’ll notice is that at the end of my emails I always promote my waitlist.

I do this for various reasons, but one of the big ones is…

If a client capitulates under the rigorous demands of The Aussie Hermit’s coaching, or on the rare chance they want a refund (I haven’t had one in years) - I’m OK.

I’ve got 20 more people lined up waiting to work with me.

(Currently, my waitlist stands at 54 Coaches)

That’s the type of security not even a government job can give you.

With that being said…

Building your own waitlist is exactly what I teach in more depth inside The Aussie Hermit’s 15 Minute Client program.

Some things you’ll learn include:

—> How to craft a waitlist offer that gets people eager to join… —> What to say to get people to apply when spots are open…

—> What questions to ask on your application form to weed out "lookie lous" before you even speak…

—> The Aussie Hermit’s word-for-word closing script that signs prospects up to your premium-priced programs…

Plus much more including…

—> How to get the waitlist system setup in an afternoon.

Along with that, you learn how to send consistent, valuable and above all *entertaining* emails that get people added to your waitlist every day.

Further, you also learn how to build your list consistently with paid ads and a budget of just $20-$30/day.

And when you combine those 3 things…

  1. Paid ads…
  2. Consistent emailing, and…
  3. A waitlist for your program…

You can have predictable, certain and secure clients for the rest of your days.

If that sounds like a system you want in your business, put yourself on the waitlist here:

Email vs Messenger - which is better?

After yesterday’s email Alexander, a long-time subscriber, wrote in:

“The big problem with emails is the low opening rates and the decreasing acceptance of this medium by private individuals (who prefer to use WhatsApp or Messenger), because they find it cumbersome and out of date. My wife for example and many of her friends no longer use email”

And The Aussie Hermit hears these concerns all the time.

So let’s tackle them now…

We’ll start with “email acceptance.”

I’ve never really heard of someone stopping using email and going solely to WhatsApp or Messenger.

Doesn’t mean it’s not happening.

But I think that would be a very hard way to live because they do two different things.

WhatsApp and Messenger are for quick messages.

Email is for longer content, plus more formal communications.

For example, try sending someone a 500+ word piece of content in WhatsApp or Messenger like you would with email.

They’ll tell you to get (you know what).

Further, you need email to buy 99% of stuff on the internet.

What do you do when the checkout asks for an email to send the receipt?

Do you just cancel your order?

No, you go get an email address.

Or what about when you sign up to a platform like Netflix or Amazon Prime or Hulu that require an email?

Do you just not sign up to those, either?

No, you go get an email address.

So I only think giving up email would make life much more difficult.

You wouldn’t be able to receive longer or more formal content.

And you wouldn’t be able to purchase a lot of things online.

And it’s for these reasons email is going to be here (and highly used) for many decades to come.

Next, let’s talk about “low open rates.”

Personally, I’ve never found open rates to be a problem if you’re sending emails people want to read.

Since I started sending emails back in 2013 to today, my open rates have never declined.

In fact, as I’ve gotten better at subject lines/emails they’ve only increased.

I find this with my clients, too.

When they follow The Aussie Hermit’s formulas for sending emails people want to read, their open rates go up.

Way up.

Of course, if you send emails that are boring, that don’t resonate with your market, or that are too “pitchy” you’re going to get low open rates.

And that’s what I find with most Coaches who struggle getting results with email.

Their emails are simply… average.

And then when they don’t get clients they blame the medium for their lack of results.

It’s not the medium - it’s your message that’s the problem.

The other thing I’ll say about low open rates is this…
Where else are you going to go?

A Facebook or Instagram or LinkedIn post will get you 3% impressions (or less) to the people that have “liked” your page.

And notice how I said “impressions.”

That doesn’t mean they’ve read it.

Even less will read your post.

So if we’re talking about low open rates, why do we never talk about open rates on other platforms where they’re much worse?

And maybe you’re thinking…

“But Aussie Hermit, what about SMS or Messenger? They have higher open rates than email!”

Sure they do.

But again, try sending someone a 500+ word piece of content in WhatsApp or Messenger like you would with email.

They’ll unsubscribe faster than Joe Biden leaving a press conference when asked questions about Hunter’s laptop.

Why?

Because again, Messenger/WhatsApp are different mediums to email.

The bottom line:

Email is used by at least 99.9% of your market.

It’s not going anywhere.

And, also, email still has the best open rates of the major marketing mediums when it comes to sending content.

Finally, one last thing I’ll mention about email is this…

It’s still #1 for profits - by a very wide margin.

So if you want to stop emailing or use another method to get clients then be my guest.

But every other option is going to reduce your profits in a big way.

With that being said…

If you want to learn how to get far more clients sending just one email per day, then that’s what I show you how to do inside The Aussie Hermit’s 15 Minute Client program.

You’ll learn….

—> 34 different subject line formulas that get prospects eagerly opening your emails each day…

—> Hundreds of different ways to come up with entertaining (and valuable) emails…

—> 11 simple editing techniques that dramatically boost email response…

—> Word-for-word sentences to transition to your close in every email without being pushy or salesy…

Plus much more including…

—> 72 email starters to make it even easier to get into the habit of sending each day.

Along with that, you’ll also learn how to build your list with paid ads using a very simple “one lead magnet, one ad” campaign structure.

And when you combine these 2 components (list building and email), it means you’ll get a consistent flow of clients for years to come.

Military marketing

If you’ve been reading The Aussie Hermit’s emails for a while, you probably know I’m not the biggest fan of the government.

They waste our tax dollars.

They have their own rules.

They spy on everything we do.

They create asinine laws.

And, if you read the same conspiracy theory forums I do, most worship Satan and do things to kids that if you found out, would probably put you in a mental ward.

However, there is one branch I do like. And one I have great respect and admiration for.

That branch, of course, is the military.

Sure, there are some woke generals.

And sure, there’s a little bit of corruption.

(It is called the "military-industrial complex" for a reason)

But by and large, it’s pretty clean.

Especially when we’re talking about the men and women on the ground - doing the work - who sacrifice themselves.

Those people are the best we have.

The reason I bring this up is because, I’ve always been in awe of how the military conduct itself.

Specifically, how they’re very "disciplined" and "regimented."

Everything they do needs to be performed in an exact/certain way.

Just look at something as simple as marching.

On the command of "march," everyone moves forward starting with their left foot and you must place your heel on the ground first at a 45 degree angle.

Then, you need to use a coordinated arm swing that is your right arm forward first.

Moreover…

Your hands must be cupped with the thumbs pointing down.

And the swing of your arms should measure 9 inches.

Your thighs?

They need not be more than 6 inches apart at full stretch.

And on it goes.

Again - this is just for regular marching.

Then there is a process for "halting," "mark time," "half-step march," "column right march," and so on.

The point is - the military is very disciplined and regimented.

There’s a specific, *detailed* process for virtually every action they take.

From marching to making your bed to cleaning your gun to responding to a commander to welcoming a new president.

In fact, let’s talk about that now as it’s another great example…

When a new U.S. president gets sworn in, they get a 4 cannon, 21 gun salute.

(Not to be confused with a 3 cannon, 21 gun salute - this is for state funerals and visiting foreign dignitaries)

JFK got one.

Ronald Regan got one.

Bill Clinton got one.

Obama got one.

And Trump got one, too.

Point is…

Every single new president has had this specific salute because it’s part of their regimented process.

(Although, they kind of screwed it up with Biden. He only got a 3 cannon, 21 gun salute. Probably nothing to worry about, though. I’m sure they just forgot to follow the process that day. But I digress)

The military is very disciplined.

And the reason why is - well there’s many reasons - but one of the main ones is…

They’re disciplined because it makes everything run more efficiently.

In life and death situations they can’t afford to make mistakes.

So by training military personal to strict standards, it ensures everyone works as a cohesive unit.

The other thing discipline provides is consistent results.

And this is where this principle can be applied most to our coaching business.

When you perform an action consistently - and if that action is effective - you will get consistent results.

A perfect example of that is email.

If you send an email once every other week like most Coaches, your results ain’t going to be that good.

But if you’re like The Aussie Hermit and you show up every day with a good email - you’re going to get a consistent flow of clients.

There’s no other result you can get.

But of course - being disciplined is hard.

Showing up is hard.

I can help you get the complete daily email system set up in no time. It’s pretty simple.
But if you’re not gong to show up each day.

Forget about it.

And that’s why my system is not for everyone.

What I will say, though, is that after a while it becomes more painful *not* to write an email than to write one.

Kind of like going to the gym…

In the beginning, it’s hard to get into a routine.

But after a while when you get into the habit you don’t want to miss a day.

Bottom line:

My system requires discipline.

Not military-level discipline. But it does require you to show up.

For me that’s worth it because it allows me to get high paying clients sending just one email per day.

With that being said…

If you’ve got the discipline to show up each day until you get into a routine, then I can show you how to get clients sending one email per day like yours-hermity.

Inside my 15 Minute Client program, you’ll learn…

  1. How to pick a niche that has a burning desire for your offer…
  2. How to position, package and price your offer so your market happily says "yes"…
  3. How to create a waitlist sales process that only has premium quality clients applying to work with you…
  4. How to build your list on autopilot with paid ads, and…
  5. How to send that list an entertaining and valuable each day that make them want to work with you.

Social media ick

Yesterday, The Aussie Hermit was having a conversation with a Coach.

And, during that conversation, she expressed a problem I’ve heard many times before.

Although, the words she used to describe the problem were a little different.

She told me she was suffering from "social media ick."

Meaning...

She was tired of trawling through Facebook groups.

She was tired of creating content for no response.

She was tired of having hundreds of conversations only for them to go nowhere.

She was tired of how much effort it took to generate interest in her transformational program.

And most of all…

She was tired of how much time these organic social media strategies took.

Then she asked me…

"What do you think of the organic strategies? Are you doing any on social media?"

Good question.

And here was my (paraphrased) response…

"Many years ago I used to be on social media doing the exact same thing you are. And then I stopped for the exact same reasons you just expressed.

I just couldn’t go on doing so much work for so little results.

I also realised if I wanted to grow my business more efficiently I needed to learn how to run ads.

So that’s how I use social media now…

My goal is to get people off Facebook and onto my list where they actually read my content.

And that means the only reason I go on social media now is to check my ad account to make sure leads are still pouring.

That might take me about 30 seconds once per day."

I could tell that what I said resonated.

And then The Aussie Hermit told her something she liked even more…

"And the best part about running ads is you can start small.

You don’t need to be spending $1,000/day to get results.

I recommend a budget of just $20-$30 per day in the beginning.

Then, when we sign a couple of clients you up that to maybe $40 per day.

Sign a couple more clients and up it again etc.

I call this snowball scaling.

And it’s how we can get you to your 100 client goal without flushing your money down the drain."

So if you’ve got "social media ick"…

If you’re tired of all the organic strategies - then maybe it’s time to give advertising a try?

When you combine it with email, you can literally attract clients in just 15 minutes per day.

Simply build your list on autopilot with paid ads.

Send one, 15 minute email per day with an offer to work with you.

And watch how you get a consistent flow of bookings.

That’s how The Aussie Hermit does it.

That’s how my clients do it.
And that’s how you can do it, too.

With that being said…

This is exactly what I show you how to do inside my 15 Minute Client program.

From launching your first ad campaign…

To analysing your numbers…

To sending emails prospects want to read (and buy from)…

To closing your bookings…

It’s all in there.

I even teach you how to choose a niche and craft a high ticket offer if you need help with that as well.

Point is…

If you’re looking for a system that has everything you need to run a profitable ad campaign that gets you lots (and lots) of clients in just 15 minutes per day - this program has it.

The only thing you need to do now is put your name on the waitlist so I can call you up when a spot is open:

The Aussie Hermit’s dire 2022 predictions

If you thought 2021 was bad, wait till you see what 2022 has in store for us.

Here’s just a few things we can look forward to:

—> More money printing…

—> Sky rocketing inflation…

—> Continued supply chain breakdown…

—> Increased fuel, food and energy prices…

—> Food shortages…

—> Black outs…

—> Stock market collapse…

—> Financial cyber attacks…

—> Bank bail-ins (if you don’t know what this is, I suggest you look it up - fast)…

—> Higher taxes…

And if you believe what eugenicist and complete psychopath Bill Gates says - a possible smallpox pandemic.

What would the world look like if just half of the above came true?

Let me paint a picture for you…

You saw what people did when toilet paper ran out.

Well, what do you think they’d do if food ran out?

Something to think about.

Of course, I could be wrong about all this.

The government could stop printing money.

They could change their regulations that are causing supply chain issues.

They could change their asinine “global warming” policies to ease fuel, food and energy prices etc.

After all, I’m just a hermit. In a hole. That reads too many conspiracy theories.

But I believe we’ve got as much chance of the government doing all those as them giving everyone a new Tesla.

And so the best course of action for you, The Aussie Hermit, and the rest of us reading is pretty simple…

Be prepared.

None of the stuff in that list could happen.

But there’s a higher probability a lot of it will - because many are *already* happening.

And so my message to you as we kick off 2022 is to be prepared.

—> Have at least 3-6 months of food/supplies available…

—> Get a portable water filter (I use a Katadyn)…

—> Get a gun (if you’re in the US)…

—> Purchase some physical Gold and Silver…

—> Get your money out of the bank (only keep enough in there for bills etc), and most of all…

Don’t go blabbering to everyone about all the gold, food and supplies you have. Otherwise, when shit hits the fan, there’s a high chance they’ll come running to you.

Now, I know what you’re thinking…

“Holy smokes Aussie Hermit! It sounds like we’re preparing for the end of the world!”

And that may be so.

However, the likelihood you’ll need all of what I listed is minimal.
But as the saying goes…

It’s better to be safe than sorry.

Personally, I’d rather be prepared than have chaos rain down and wish I’d been prepared.

You know what I’m sayin’?

Now, in terms of your business, what can you do to be prepared?

For me it’s very simple…

And that is, you want a business that safeguards you from the government, or Facebook/Google going down, or some other external force you can’t control.

The best way - in my squinting hermit eyes - to do that is by building an email list.

An email list is data *you control*.

It’s yours.

You own it.

For example…

You can export it.

Put it on a thumb drive. And take it anywhere in the world with you.

That’s control.

That’s safe.

If Facebook goes down or boots you off - you’ve still got your list.

If the banks go down and you can’t get access to your funds - you’ve still got your list.
If there’s a solar storm and half the internet gets wiped - you’ve still got your list.

Point is - your list is security.

And that means you always have the ability to get clients no matter what happens.

It means that no matter what happens, your ability to get clients is secure.

Incredibly important in these uncertain times we’re about to go through.

Finally…

This email is not intended to scare you.

Only to help you be prepared in case something disastrous were to happen.

Most of all, though, this email is intended to give you hope.

Because I strongly believe once we come out the other side of all this, we’re going to be living in some truly incredible times.

Or another way of saying that is…

The best is yet to come.

With that being said…

If you’d like some guidance on build a quality list fast, that’s exactly what my 15 Minute program will teach you.

Specifically, you’ll learn how to:

Craft a lead magnet that attracts prospects that have the money and motivation to buy what you’re selling…

Launch an ad campaign that promotes your lead magnet (so you get automated leads)…
|Scale that campaign once we’ve proven your offer converts at low spend.

Piñata marketing

Back when The Aussie Hermit was but a child hermit, I actually used to get out a little more.

Of course, being a hermit I was playing Nintendo 64 and Playstation a lot of the time.

But there was the odd occasion I'd be invited to other kids’ birthday parties.

And every now and then, at these parties, there’d be a piñata.

(Not sure why as it’s not a tradition here. I guess the parents know that anything that involves whacking and an explosion of lollies is going to be a winner with kids)

And about halfway through the party, all the kids would get together.

We’d take turns putting on the blindfold.

And we’d do our best to hit the crap out of that flying donkey.

The only difference between the way we play the game compared to the way other parts of the world play, is that we Aussies typically use a cricket bat.

At least, I did at the parties I attended.

And that made for a lot of dangerous hitting because crickets bats aren’t the lightest pieces of wood out there.

I distinctly remember a few times where a bat went flying across the backyard into the head of an unsuspecting adult.

And the reason I bring this up is because, as a game, piñata is very forgiving.

You pick up the bat.

Put on the blindfold.

And swing the as many times as you want.

If you miss, it doesn’t matter.

You get another swing.

And another swing.

And another swing until you hit the donkey enough to the point where it explodes.

This means anyone - no matter how uncoordinated - can win at piñata.

This is exactly why The Aussie Hermit loves email compared to other forms of marketing (i.e. funnels).

Email is just like piñata. It’s very forgiving.

You send out an email and if the prospect doesn’t take your offer at the end of it - no problem.

You get to send them another the next day.

And then the next day after that.

And the next day after that etc.

Point is…

With email you get multiple shots at signing the client.

And that means any Coach - no matter how "uncoordinated" with marketing - can win at email.

This is very different from typical guru funnels.

The reason why is, with guru funnels you often only have one swing.

You only have one shot to get it right because there is no follow up mechanism.

If they don’t buy at the end of the webinar or the 5 day challenge or VSL or whatever funnel you’re using to convert them - that’s it. The game is over.

Point is - guru funnels aren’t forgiving at all.

And that means if you want to get results with these funnels - if you want to get clients with only one swing - you have to know how to market and sell.

Something to think about next time you’re gunning for that flying donkey.

With that being said…

If The Aussie Hermit were to compare his 15 Minute Minute Client program to piñata, I’d say it’s like playing the game only with the blindfold off.

That’s because you’re using a system that’s been proven to work for regular Coaches over the past 5 years.

You learn everything you need to send winning emails from day 1 even if you’ve never sent an email before.

Also, you get access to yours-hermity.

Me. Luke Charlton. The Sultan of Sales.

The King of Konversion.

The Grandpoobah of Print.

You get the point.

And that means I hand-hold you through the whole process.

I critique your subject lines.

I review your emails.

I pull apart your offers.

And I do all that *before* you send your emails so you have the best chancing of hitting that flying donkey the first time you swing.

And if you don’t?

No problem.

As mentioned, we get another swing the next day.

And as long as you keep swinging with me by your side, you will get a consistent flow of clients.

If you want a simple system that attracts clients sending just one email per day, make sure to put yourself on the waitlist here:

A DM disaster

A couple of times per month The Aussie Hermit will get an unsolicited pitch from a desperate “exspurt.”

Here’s how it goes…

The exspurt sees my ad.

They opt in to my list.

Then they immediately pitch me on all the ways they can help grow my business.

What’s worse, they often have terrible grammar.

Here’s one I received recently:

=====

Hey Luke Charlton

I know I know this is a cold Dm and that's the 1st reason you don’t want to book a call with us.

Look, there maybe there are some trust issues over here.

I found this strategy to be so powerful in order to contact the right people who we want to work with!

This is another reason, we’ve tried to contact you on Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn & maybe you’ve been targeted with our Fb Ads.

We know that we can help to increase your business revenue by 20%, 50%  or more with some advanced strategies or we will pay you!

=====

I call this a “DM disaster”

Let’s look at 3 reasons why:

First, his grammar sucks.

“Look, there maybe there are some trust issues over here?”

I think there maybe there are, yes.

Here’s the deal…

If you’re going to cold pitch any type of service (particular a high-priced one), at least get your grammar right.

Not doing so basically destroys any chance of making the sale.

Second, his approach immediately creates a skeptic in me.

Whenever someone pitches me out of the blue, I assume they have no idea how to market their business.

After all, they’re chasing down clients.

Is that someone I want to give money to grow my business?

Hell no.

If they can’t grow their own business with proper marketing, they’re not growing mine.

And finally…

Third, he pitches before he asks questions.

Before you sell someone a high-priced service, you want to find out a few things.
For example…

You want to find out where they’re stuck.

You want to find out what they’re trying to achieve.

You want to find out why now is a good time for them to get help.

You want to find out why they think *you* are the best person to help them.

Etc.

And you do all this because you’re discovering where your service fit in with their needs.

Most of all…

The prospect is also discovering where your service fits in with their needs.

Without this, the chances of them buying are virtually zero.

What this guy should have done was ask me a bunch of questions to get an idea whether I wanted/needed help in the first instance. Then, if I did, he could have asked more questions to ascertain whether his service was a good fit for me.

(Of course, I still wouldn’t have answered or given him my money for the reasons mentioned above)

Bottom line:

His approach was a complete train wreck.

And he lost the sale before it even began.

Now let’s look at cold DM’s from a pure marketing/client attraction perspective.

The truth is, whether you’re sending messages via email, Facebook, LinkedIn, or some other platform, you’re going to have to pitch hundreds (maybe even thousands) of prospects just to land a few calls. And then of those calls you might sign up one client.

Another way of saying that is - as a strategy, cold DM’s waste a lot of your time.

Sure you can get clients for free.

But is spending 20-30+ hours per week in DM’s worth it?

The Aussie Hermit Doesn’t think so.

You may disagree. And that’s fine.

I, myself, prefer to use a much more time-efficient way of getting clients.

A way where you attract clients to you, instead of you having to chase them down.

And a way that only takes about 15 minutes of your time each day.

The strategy?

Build your list with paid ads, and…
Email your list once per day.

Here’s how it works:

Building your list with paid ads means your lead gen. is automated.

No chasing. No cold DM’s. No time-sucking organic strategies.

Whether you’re sleeping, eating, hanging out with friends or even on the loo - you’re always attracting fresh leads onto your list.

And then by emailing those leads once per day, you build a relationship with them, you establish your credibility and expertise, you tell them about your program, and you offer them a chance to speak with you on the phone.

Then, when you do get consistent calls (and you will if you’re selling an offer people want), then you go through the steps I mentioned above on asking questions before you sell.

Point is…

This is a strategy that delivers you clients without you having to chase them down.

And that means you spend less time DM’ing and more time serving.

With that being said…

If you’re currently doing cold DM’s (or you simply want a more time efficient way of getting clients), then my 15 Minute Client program might be exactly what you need.

Inside, you get access to the same “Ultimate Lead Magnet Template” that’s helped hundreds (and hundreds) of Coaches attract quality leads using paid ads.

In fact, this template is responsible for over 500,000 leads between my personal and client campaigns over the past 6 years.

Along with that, you’ll launch your autopilot ad/list building campaign within a few weeks of starting the program.

(Of course, it can be a lot faster if you put in more time. That’s the average).

And most importantly, I share with you my daily email system that’s also helped hundreds of Coaches get consistent clients (with most of those Coaches not being experts at marketing or copywriting).

Rectal marketing

When Coaches seek out The Aussie Hermit, the main problem they usually have is "no clients."

But unknowingly to them, that’s not the real problem.

That’s just surface level.

The real problem is always deeper.

It’s kind of like when you go to the doctor for that weird rash that won’t go away.

You ask if some type of cream will help.

But the doctor responds by telling you, "that will only treat the external part of the rash. This might make it go away temporarily. But if you want it gone permanently, we have to find out what’s causing it. And that’ll be a deeper reason within your body - probably something to do with your gut biome."

And so you get blood samples.

You get swabs.

You reduce your diet to steamed eggshells and sauerkraut for 6 months.

You eat weird garlic pills that cause anyone within a 50-foot radius to turn and walk in the opposite direction.

You even get multiple rectal exams from 6 different doctors in the hope you can find out what’s causing this G**-damned rash!

Point is…

You work on fixing the underlying problem(s) so that it fixes the surfaces level problem.

So what are the underlying problems for Coaches who don’t have clients?

Well, the truth is, there are a few.

And I could go through them right now.

Instead, I want to talk about how you market to those problems.

You see, we Coaches are really good at what we do.

And when we speak to a prospect we can immediately identify the *real* underlying problem in their relationship, or business, or diet, or parenting style etc that’s holding them back.

That’s great because it means we know what to fix to get the results they want.

But the problem is, we speak to those underlying problems in our marketing.

(Some call it "the curse of knowledge")

And that’s no good because it means our marketing message won’t work.

A great example of this is that totally non-real-life example above about the rash.

Let’s pretend that doctor wanted to attract more patients that had similar weird rashes.

Well, if they followed a similar strategy to how us Coaches market, they’d have an ad that said something like this - "free guide to fixing your gut biome today," or worse, "free guide to fixing rectal issues." Problem is, these wouldn’t work as they speak to the underlying problems and not the surface-level problem.

Instead, the doctor should say, "Free guide to fixing that weird rash."

Notice the difference?

It’s the old "sell ‘em what they want, and give them what they need" strategy.

And that’s all marketing/client attraction is.

It’s about speaking to the surface-\level problems.

The problems the prospect thinks about every day…

The overweight body…

The breakdown of a relationship…

The business with no clients…

The toxic culture…

Etc.

…And then, when they’re in your world (i.e. on your email list), you educate them about the real/deeper/underlying problems and your methodology for solving those problems.

With that being said…

Even though this is a straightforward concept to understand, in reality it can be a hard thing for us Coaches to implement.

Often, we’re too close to our subject to know whether we’re speaking to a surface-level problem or an underlying problem. And that causes serious issues with our marketing.

Enter The Aussie Hermit’s 15 Minute Client program.

Inside, I show you how to distinguish these two types of problems.

Along with that, I show you how to craft a message that speaks to the right problems so prospects - click on your ads, opt into your list, book appointments with you and, of course, buy your programs.

But probably the best part is, you get access to The Aussie Hermit.

And that means you get The Magician of Marketing himself looking over all your marketing materials, and pointing out exactly what needs fixing if something is amiss.

How to instantly charge 2x-5x more without changing one piece of your offer

Many Coaches think that in order to charge more, they need to enhance their offer in some way.

For example…

They think they need to create more bonuses.

Add more coaching sessions.

Give the prospect more access to them.

Or even make the program longer.

And sure, that can work.

But it’s usually wasted effort.

Instead, there’s a much easier way to significantly raise your fees.

And the best part is, you don’t have to change your offer one bit.

Case in point:

The other day, The Aussie Hermit was chatting to a new client.

And, she came to me because she wants to turn her bookkeeping into a high-priced service.

Unfortunately, though, she didn’t see how this was possible.

"Business owners just don’t value bookkeeping," she told me.

But is that the case?

Here’s a paraphrased version of what I said to her:

"It’s true. There will be many business owners that don’t value your bookkeeping.

For example, if you worked with a new Coach making 1-2 sales per month, they’re not going to see the value in spending $500/mo or more on a bookkeeper.

It just wouldn’t make sense as their bookkeeping is probably about 10 minutes work.

However, let’s pretend you’re not working with a new Coach.

Instead, let’s pretend you’re working with a retail store owner.

And that retail store owner sells and orders hundreds of products each month.

In other words - they’re dealing with a lot of transactions.

Further, let’s also say this retail store owner is up until 1am every morning balancing their books.

This job is literally costing them hours of their life every week.

Now let me ask you…

Would that type of business owner value bookkeeping services?

Absolutely.

In fact, they’d happily pay high fees to get all that work off their back.

You’d be a saviour to them.

So it’s not true when you say business owners don’t value bookkeeping.

Sure, some won’t.

But many will.

More importantly…

There will be many that pay a high amount for those services."

So what has The Aussie Hermit just magnificently demonstrated here?

I’ve demonstrated that the key to selling a high-priced service is less about your offer and more about *market selection.*

Choose the right market, and you can charge 2x, 5x and even 10x more than what you currently are.

But choose the wrong market, and you’ll barely be able to make a sale.

Let alone a sale at a high price.

With that being said…

The very first step in my 15 Minute Client program is all about helping you choose the right market.

AKA: your niche.

We get clear on the exact demographic that’s perfect for your offer.

We identify the "urgent problem" that’s going to motivate them to invest now and not later.

And then I show you how to package and position your offer so that your market happily invests in your high fees.

Then, from there, I show you how to attract that market onto your list with paid ads and a simple lead magnet.

And after that, I show you how to convert that list into clients sending just one email per day.

Bait and switch gurus

At least twice per month The Aussie Hermit has a conversation with a Coach where they tell me this:

“Yeh, so I invested in this guru’s marketing program to get clients. But I didn’t get any results.

And then at the end of the program they told me if I wanted to *really* grow my business I had to invest in their top end mastermind”

I call these the “bait and switch” gurus.

And, unfortunately - they’re everywhere.

Back in 2013/14 I spent about 35K with a bait and switch guru.

My initial investment with him was $5k. Then he convinced me to invest in more and bigger programs if I truly wanted to succeed.

Sad.

But what’s more sad is I believed him!

Another thing bait and switch gurus like to do is sell you into their program but pair you with one of their staff for coaching.

And let’s be honest…

These staff aren’t marketing experts.

They’re often newbies that know a little more than you. Just enough to feel like you’re moving forward.

But when you get to the end of the program and you’ve got no clients - you realise you’ve been duped.

I’m not sure why these gurus run their business this way.

For me, if I was going to hire someone to get results for my clients, they’d have to be at least as good as me.

The problem with that is - if someone was as good as me they’d be running their own business.

Why would they get paid 1/16th the amount working for me when they can get paid 100% of the amount working for themselves?

And now you see the conundrum these bait and switch gurus have.

They want to scale.

They want to outsource their expertise to save time.

But no one is ever going to be as good as them.

And so they (stupidly) settle for staff that aren’t really experts to get their client’s results.

And then when their clients (AKA: you) don’t get results?

They say, “well come into our top level mastermind where you can get the *really good* coaching and content.”

I think it’s a dumb way to run your coaching business.

It causes a lot of complaints.

It produces a lot of refunds.

It leads to a lot bad reviews.

It gives your company a bad name.
And most of all…

It significantly reduces the results of the clients who buy your program.

This is why The Aussie Hermit run things completely the opposite way in my business.

First, I only have one program - The 15 Minute Client.

There’s no secret mastermind I try to up sell you to at the end.

You come in to that program for 8 weeks. You implement the system. Then you finish up.

And if you want to stay longer?

(Which some choose to do as they want help scaling their campaigns)

Then there’s an ongoing monthly fee.

This, however, is completely optional and not needed to get the results I promise in the program.

(That being, building a coaching business that attracts you clients sending 1 email per day)

And second, I don’t palm you off to some assistant or staff member.

You get direct coaching with me.

And that means I personally review all of your major marketing assets (niche/offer/lead magnet/ads/emails etc) to ensure you have the best chance of succeeding right out of the gate.

With that being said…
